Alexa Heying has spent the last decade scaling companies alongside founders, driven to foster lasting impact in the tech ecosystem. She has navigated the startup experience from Seed to sale, as well as the intricacies of M&A integration in a corporate setting.
Before joining Flyover, Alexa served as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for a newly formed division of Nelnet, where she unified revenue, product, and operations goals for three B2B brands. Prior to that, she executed the growth strategy for a SaaS startup contributing to its successful acquisition. She has additionally served as a fractional operator and consulted for early stage companies.
Now, as Head of Platform at Flyover, Alexa leverages her firsthand understanding of the importance of support, connections, and strategic guidance for startup success. Her focus is on activating networks and providing holistic value to the portfolio beyond capital.
Alexa’s background includes experience in the global nonprofit sector, with engagements in Chicago, Paris, Peru, and Colombia. She holds dual majors in International Studies and French, along with minors in International Business, Anthropology, and Spanish from Loyola University Chicago. She currently serves as a Q Champion to the Quinlan School of Business to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Alexa now lives in her hometown of Kansas City and enjoys traveling, salsa dancing, paddleboarding, and spending time with her husband and family.
